BoSoma Youth Company (BYC)​

The BoSoma Youth Company (BYC) of the BoSoma School of Dance is a community outreach dance group for ages 11-18 committed to sharing the art of dance at a wide variety of local venues. This pre-professional performance group offers students the chance to take their training outside the classroom and into the community at places such as town fairs, after-school programs, fundraisers, and other local events. In addition, youth company dancers are given the opportunity to enhance their dance education through workshops, master classes, and intensives. In order to participate in the BYC, students must commit to attending the Jr or Sr Intensive Annual Program Classes, attend 1-2 weekly rehearsals as scheduled through out the school year as well as the BSD Summer Intensive held in August.

ANNUAL PERFORMANCE SEASON 2023-2024

The BoSoma Youth Company is an opportunity offered to Jr. & Sr. Level intensive study students at our Hamilton location interested in performing throughout the year. Students are NOT required to participate in the Youth Company, but a commitment to the Company does come with specific requirements, as outlined below.

2023/2024 BYC Events Schedule

Friday, October 6th - Annisquam Craft Fair (Open to all Seniors)
Location: 36 Leonard St, Gloucester, MA 01930
Time: 5:30pm-8pm
Need 6-8 dancers, first to respond
Saturday, November 11th - NEYDEX (Optional)
Location: The Dance Theater at Boston University, 915 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215
Time: 10am-9pm Classes, Tech and an Evening Performance. $75 fee per performing dancer and a $50 fee per non-performing dancer. Parents will be able to purchase tickets for the evening performance.
Opening Act for BoSoma Dance Company (Senior Advanced Cast Only)
Fall Performance (November 3rd & 4th): Shore Country Day School, Beverly, MA
Spring Performance (March 29th & 30th): Wimberly Theater, Boston, MA
December 1st, 2023 - Hamilton Senior Center Performance (Open to all Juniors)

Schedule: Dancers Arrive: 4pm, Performance: 4:30pm-5:15pm, Pizza/Activity: 5:15pm-6:00pm
December 15th-17th 2023 - BYC Holiday Show (Required)

Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday time commitment
January 13th or 14th, 2024 - Move for the Movement Cancer Benefit (Open to all BYC)

April 2024 - Worcester County Dance Festival (Open to all BYC)
