BoSoma Youth Company (BYC)​

The BoSoma Youth Company (BYC) of the BoSoma School of Dance is a community outreach dance group for ages 11-18 committed to sharing the art of dance at a wide variety of local venues. This pre-professional performance group offers students the chance to take their training outside the classroom and into the community at places such as town fairs, after-school programs, fundraisers, and other local events. In addition, youth company dancers are given the opportunity to enhance their dance education through workshops, master classes, and intensives. In order to participate in the BYC, students must commit to attending the Jr or Sr Intensive Annual Program Classes, attend 1-2 weekly rehearsals as scheduled through out the school year as well as the BSD Summer Intensive held in August.

ANNUAL PERFORMANCE SEASON 2024-2025

The BoSoma Youth Company is an opportunity offered to Jr. & Sr. Level intensive study students at our Hamilton location interested in performing throughout the year. Students are NOT required to participate in the Youth Company, but a commitment to the Company does come with specific requirements, as outlined below.

2024/2025 BYC Events Schedule​

 

Saturday, November 9th - NEYDEX

Location: The Dance Theater at Boston University, 915 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215

Time: 10am-8pm Classes, Tech and an Evening Performance. $95 fee per performing dancer and a $55 fee per non-performing dancer. Parents will be able to purchase tickets for the evening performance. 

 

Opening Act for BoSoma Dance Company (Senior Advanced & Senior Intermediate)

Fall Performance (November 16th & 17th): Shore Country Day School, Beverly, MA

Spring Performance (May 3rd & 4th): Wimberly Theater, Boston, MA

 

December 13th-15th, 2024 - BYC Holiday Show (Required)

Location: Shore Country Day School, Beverly MA, 545 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA 01915

Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday time commitment

 

January 11th - Recital Audition

Location: BSD Hamilton, 4:00pm-6:00pm

January 19th, 2025 - Move for the Movement Cancer Benefit (Open to all BYC)

Location: Collins Center, 100 Shawsheen Rd, Andover, MA 01810

Dancers Arrive: 10:30am, Show: 12pm
